Glide-Secure

At some of our sites, you'll find a network called Glide-Secure broadcast. Whilst the standard Glide network is totally secure for normal usage, this network adds an additional layer of security in the form of Wireless encryption between your device and our Wireless Access Points.

You can make sure that you are always safe when entering personal details online by looking for websites with SSL encryption. This ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser/s remains private. You can read more about this in our article here.

How to connect to Glide-Secure

In order to connect to Glide-Secure, you will need to first connect to and make an account on the standard network.

Once you've done that, disconnect from the Glide network and make sure to forget it on all your devices.

Next, we need to set up a manual connection:

For Windows:

Press the 'Windows Key' and the letter 'R' at the same time to open a small "Run" window > type in ncpa.cpl and click 'Run' > Click "Set up a new connection or network" > Click "Manually connect to a wireless network".

Enter the below details:

Network name: Glide-Secure

Security type: WPA2-Enterprise

Encryption type: AESSecurity

Key: <leave blank>

If you want your computer to automatically select this whenever it is available, check "Start this connection automatically" > You will see a window that says "Successfully added Glide-Secure". Do not close this window yet.

Click Change connection settings: > Go to the security Tab: In the drop-down menu for Choose a network authentication method, select "Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)" > Click Settings next to "Microsoft Protected EAP".

Untick "Validate Server Certificate" > Click "Configure" next to Secured Password > Untick "Automatically use my windows logon name and password" > Click "OK", then "OK" again > Click "Advanced Settings" > Tick "Specify Authentication Mode" > Select "User Authentication" from drop down > Click "OK", then "OK" again, then click "Close" > Enter your Glide account username and password when prompted.

For Apple:

Click the Apple menu then go to System Preferences > go to Network > select Airport/Wi-Fi, and then click Advanced.

Under the Airport tab, click the button “+”.

In the new window, enter the network name: Glide-Secure select the Security type: WPA2-Enterprise > leave the password blank > click Add, then OK.
